As you saw in yesterday’s post, Ward F, is really starting to boom! After Berry Lane Park‘s opening last year and the new development announced yesterday, for 975 Garfield Avenue, Ward F has more news. After years of planning, development is underway for a new residential, affordable housing project at 445 Ocean Avenue, between Fulton Avenue and Dwight Street. The building, which will be called Dr. Lena Francis Edwards Apartments, will include 64 residential rental units, 12 of which will contain one bedroom, 36 will contain two bedrooms, and 16 will contain three bedrooms. Five units in the building will be reserved for individuals currently experiencing homelessness, and homeless veterans will be given a priority. In other news, there’s a lot of fun things happening in your neck of the woods, this weekend! The Grind Coffee Shop will be hosting live entertainment this evening, Whealth Cafe will continue with their weekly Harborside Run and LITM will be hosting an Oscars Viewing Party on Sunday! But that’s not all! Check out Jersey City Upfront‘s article on your weekend event highlights.
